Did you know that the word Photography translates to ‘Documenting the Light’? I actually did not know about this until recently.
I enjoy photography for many reasons. It provides me with a tool to see the world around me in different perspective. Being a Photographer can be very rewarding if you put in the effort and time to learn and examine what you are seeing. You don’t need to have the most expensive camera or the most technically advanced lens, although it can help, to enjoy photography. all you need is a little bit of creativity and a will to experiment with what you see.
I started taking the field of photography seriously a few years ago. Before that I was your average guy with a ‘point and shoot’ camera. I didn’t understand much about what I was shooting. I was simply reporting a scene as it is. One day, as I was traveling, I came across an issue of the National Geographic magazine with an amazing photographic section of some dramatic images of the wildlife, nature and people. I was totally hooked and since then I realized that what I have in my hand is more than just a ‘camera’. It is a tool to communicate an idea, a vision or even a feeling to others.
Since then I gained more and more knowledge to help me take a better photographs. And in my opinion it is important to know that in photography the learning process can never end. You will find yourself learning more and more every day and with every photograph you take.
I have put this website to share some of my knowledge and experience with others. I hope it will provide an insight for everyone, including myself, to how amazing the world we live in can be if we all take the time to watch and observe.
If you have visited the site before then you would have noticed that I have changed it few times now in terms of look and layout. But after experimenting with over 10 different site layouts I finally found an easy and simple layout to use.

Did not know photography translates to ‘Documenting the Light’ .. but i understand, and as far as sharing knowldge i might take you up on that bro. I just took up photography recently and as you may know i have a decent camera. We should setup a session soon under the harbour bridge and see if I can learn a thing or two from you
I am happy that you are getting into the field of photography and I am sure that you will be rewarded with some nice photographs if you put in the effort and time to learn and experiment.
I like the idea of going out for some harbour bridge photography workshop. I think the best way to learn and up your skills in photography is just to go out there and take photographs of anything that interest you. And as you do, keep in mind the basic element of photography composition, but more on that later.
